Name ten of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick ten people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used.

At first I thought this would be difficult but found that the difficult part was deciding what to miss out. Apart from Yeux's I haven't seen any others so I hope I'm not duplicating.

1) Hearing the key in the door when I've been worrying about my husband/son/daughter being late home.

2) Waking up and realizing I don't have to go to work that day.

3) Being greeted by our two cats when I get up in the morning.

4) Settling down at my computer for a long session.

5) Family gatherings.

6) The smell of newly-mown grass ~ such a cliche, but so true.

7) The garden after a summer shower - there is always a blackbird singing.

8) Watching Elijah in films, interviews, etc - but most especially in LOTR - and knowing I will have these for the rest of my life.

9) Thinking about my next meeting with Elijah.

10) Music - it is like a drug to me.

These I have tagged:

mechtild
ms_banazira
janejanejane

I adore the smell of newly-mown grass! I thought I was the only one.

Three cats, here.

You've met Elijah Wood? How cool! In what capacity? A con? A premiere? In real life?

"You've met Elijah Wood?"

3 times - all at cons - Collectormania Oct 03 here in the UK, ORC in Pasadena Jan 05, ELF in Orlando Aug 05. And I have some more lined up for this year, all being well. First should be at London Film & ComiCon 1 & 2 July. Oh dear - reading that I sound like a stalker!!

Whoah! Three times!

So, what do you think? I am always reading about his "radiance", his "aura", his "illuminated from within" quality, which he used so well acting Frodo. Did you find that to be true, Not Alone?

It's true Mechtild ~ all that and more. He's stunning and many pics, though beautiful, very often don't do him justice. He's small - but I'm not talking about height - he's small in a beautiful way - perhaps petite would be a better word - and when I see him I'm always reminded of a porcelain doll. Oh yes, the aura, the radiance, the 'lit up' quality - it's all there. (Btw my icon is from ORC, Jan 05)

That's you? Are you dinky! You make EW look tall and manly.

Thanks for responding. I have heard that, too, that he's very small in the sense of delicately-made, or looks like it. We know from the Extras how durable he is being thrown about, but he looks breakable. I think we discussed this in The Faculty - about his being pricey-looking but durable - like actual porcelain, that is, bone china porcelain, specifically.

I'm only 5'1" so he'll always be tall to me!! And yes, he does look almost breakable - but I can assure you that little bod felt really strong!! And I got a lovely squeeze too - oh the memories ...

You are very petite, Not Alone. EW must find that very pleasant, being with adults over whom he can tower, although growing up around adults so much, I suppose he became used to being smaller than the people around him.

Number 1 is one of the bestest ever, isn't it?

There's nothing quite like the feeling of relief at that sound:)

I'm not sure I would have thought of it, but definitely number 1. Of course, it is mainly my husband since my kids are young enough not to have keys or be out on their own much.

I've had some pretty scary moments over the years when my husband/kids have been really late coming home - there's nothing like that feeling of relief when they do:)

I suspect that more of those are in my future with the kids. I've had a few moments like that with my husband, who for a long time was almost always at least a little late (but he's improved!).
