I have been tagged by bellewood. I don't often do these and feel oddly nervous talking about myself instead of Elijah!! Anyway, here goes!!

01. How has LJ changed your life?

Dramatically. When I first discovered Elijah and LOTR, I'd had almost no experience of the internet - I used a computer in my job but mainly just for word-processing - I had no idea there was any such thing as online fandom and if I hadn't happened to have access to the
internet at work I'd probably still be living in ignorance. What a terrible thought!! Anyway, I knew there was some sort of search thing on the net. I remember thinking, 'I'll try typing in 'Elijah Wood' but I don't suppose anything will come up!!!' Yes - that is honestly
how green I was!!! I spent about twelve months floundering around, discovering message boards and groups and making all sorts of silly mistakes. It was as a member of Adult Elijah - a Yahoo group - that I discovered LJ. Quite a few members had one and I started to get curious. I was very nervous about starting my own but I was so glad I did - it's now my haven, the one place I can talk about my devotion to a certain young actor without fear of ridicule, and to have so many lovely friends from all around the world is such a blessing.

02. What do you do before bedtime?

I usually try to prise myself away from the computer at about 11pm. I then spend about an hour either reading, watching tv or doing crosswords.

03. What are you going to have for dinner tonight?

We've had our dinner. I did a big five-cheese pizza for the two men to share, potato chips (home-made!) and baked beans. I don't care much for pizza and I usually have something different with my chips and beans but I didn't feel very hungry tonight so I didn't bother. Btw - if a certain young man was to invite me to one of his pizza evenings to sample one of his pizzas - made on his pizza stone, of course - I'd be more than willing to give it a go!!

04. What is the ONE place you want to go before you die if you had the money and the time?

I've been lucky enough to see quite a few places - but the one I want to return to is New Zealand. I'd like to spend much longer there next time.

05. What scares you?

Far too many things, unfortunately!! I've inherited an overactive imagination from my mother and can see the danger in any situation. I suppose my worse fears are the thought of something really bad happening to those I love.

06. What do you do in your free time?

The computer is my main thing but I also like reading, watching movies, doing crosswords - I also enjoy playing the piano (very badly) but my piano is in a bad way so until I can afford a new one I won't be doing so much of that.

07. If you could speak another language (meaning one you currently don't know), what would it be?

I did start studying French at one stage in my life - I wish I'd kept it up.

08. What personal belonging do you have with you everywhere you go?

I'm paranoid about not forgetting my house keys - then it's just the usual things such as mobile phone, debit card, reading glasses, small mirror etc.

09. What was your favorite song or musical group when you were young?

I can't say I had just one particular favourite - the very first singers I remember really enjoying were The Everly Brothers (now I'm really giving my age away!) - I also loved Buddy Holly and then The Beatles, the Rolling Stones and many others.

10. Are you a risk taker?

No - I'd rather be safe than sorry!

11. Is being tagged fun?

Depends on the subject - this one is quite fun:)

12. Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Hopefully exactly where I am now.

13. If you could be anyone for one day, who would you be?

You'd never guess!! Just kidding, of course you would:) Like Belle, it would have to be either Elijah's girlfriend or Elijah himself. I think it would be the latter - so many questions would be answered:)

14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?

I regard bellewood as a kindred spirit - someone who shares completely my feelings about Elijah. We met during what, for each of us, was one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives - on the set of 'The Oxford Murders'. She is a lovely lady who I'm very happy to have as a friend.

15. Would you rather be single & rich or married but poor?

I'd say married but poor as long as it's a happy marriage.

16. How many children do you have/want to have, if any?

I have two children, a daughter and son, now grown up. I adore them both but I'm glad we decided to stop at two!

17. Is reality objective or subjective?

I think everyone's reality is different, so that would make it subjective.

18. I'd have to claim the 5th Amendment for this question so I'm going to change it to: Do you have pets? If so what are their names?

We had two cats, sisters, for 16 years but Mabel died last year so now we just have 17-year old Beatrice.

19. Would you have 100% safe sex with a stranger for $10,000,000?

No - I couldn't do that to my husband. But I don't regard Elijah as a stranger. And there would be no charge. You did not just read that - it was a mirage.

20. How did you choose your username?

I've put this on my profile page so I'm going to be lazy and just copy it here!!

"The day I started this LJ 'The Two Towers' was still showing in cinemas and I’d been to see it for what was about the sixth time. When I was considering what LJ name to use the 'We're Not Alone' scene popped into my mind. But I did not choose the name just because of this. More than a year previously, in Jan 2002, I’d seen FOTR for the first time - I thought it was the most wonderful film I’d ever seen and I had been totally mesmerised by Elijah’s performance as Frodo. I was surprised that I’d never heard of this wonderful young actor before - after all, he was obviously English!! Wrong!! I was amazed to discover that he is
American - his English accent was perfect!! I was intrigued by him, couldn’t imagine what he’d be like in Real Life so I began a frantic search for info. It didn’t take me long to discover that Elijah himself is just as fascinating, as beautiful and as lovable as Frodo.
However, I also felt rather - what shall I say - alarmed? surprised? ashamed? guilty? - that I had become a fan at such a late stage in life - especially a fan of someone so very young. I was so relieved when I discovered that I was not the only ’oldie’ who had been deeply
affected by Elijah - that I was, in fact, not alone. We may be in the minority, but we have lived long enough to know true quality when we see it."

* Tag 8 people to do this quiz & those who are tagged cannot refuse (yeah, right). These people must state who they were tagged by & cannot tag the person whom they were tagged by. Continue this game by sending it to other people.

* People who have been tagged must write their answers on their blogs & replace any question that they dislike with a new question formulated by themselves.

I'm just going to say if there's anyone on my f-list who hasn't been tagged yet and is up for this - please go ahead!!

and to have so many lovely friends from all around the world is such a blessing.

Gosh, I still can't quite believe it's real. We're so fortunate.

#1 describes me to a "t"! Exactly how I was, too. : )

I love the Everly Brothers, too. In fact, I keep meaning to make a video using "Dream", is that the name?

So, what you're saying is that for $10 million you'd have sex with Elijah? ;-)

"love the Everly Brothers, too. In fact, I keep meaning to make a video using "Dream", is that the name?"

The full title is "All I Have to do is Dream" - lovely song and one of their biggest hits.

"So, what you're saying is that for $10 million you'd have sex with Elijah? ;-)"

No!! No no no!! For Elijah there would be no charge! But I can see that the way I'd worded it didn't make that clear so I've edited it. Of course, there'd have to be a cast iron guarantee that hubby would never know - but alas, it's not anything I'm ever going to have to worry about:(

Goodness! Yours reminds me so much of myself.

1. I'd been keeping an eye on Elijah's career since The Good Son, but FOTR was when I became interested in the person in addition to the actor. I had fought getting the Internet for years because I knew I'd become addicted (too right about that!) but I broke down because I wanted to be able to read TORn. Like you, I Googled "Elijah Wood" and nearly fell off the chair when I saw over 10,000 results. My first stop was A & F (at the top of the list) and I migrated from there to LJ.

3. I didn't know you have baked beans in the UK. I thought they were popular only in the US...the New England section in particular.

6. I love crossword puzzles and one of the things I miss about no longer living in NYC is The New York Times crossword puzzles. The puzzles in our local papers aren't challenging at all.

7. That's my choice, too. I studied French for three years, but never had enough opportunity to use it to get fluent.

19. Many people have given similar answers. Maybe the husbands should be consulted. $10 million is a lot of money to throw away. *g*

This was fun to read. Thanks for sharing.

"I had fought getting the Internet for years because I knew I'd become addicted"

To be honest, I used to hear people talking about having a home computer and spending time on the internet and I'd think, 'Why the heck would I want to spend time on a computer at home as well as at work'!! Little did I know!!

"and nearly fell off the chair when I saw over 10,000 results."

Me too!! Couldn't believe my eyes! I'd just never heard the name of EW before FOTR, so I had no idea he'd been acting for so long.

"I didn't know you have baked beans in the UK. I thought they were popular only in the US...the New England section in particular."

Oh yes - baked beans have been around for as long as I can remember. I used to really like them and I do still eat them but hubby and son decided they preferred the Branston variety to Heinz which we'd always had before. I don't like them so much - I find them a bit stodgy - but because Branston became very popular over here Heinz changed theirs to be more like Branston - a richer sauce, I think - so I can't win:(

"I love crossword puzzles and one of the things I miss about no longer living in NYC is The New York Times crossword puzzles. The puzzles in our local papers aren't challenging at all."

I've loved crosswords for years - I was so glad to learn that Elijah does too, and to see him concentrating so hard on one on the OM set. I believe he also likes the NY Times one - I think that's the one that gets more difficult for each day of the week, isn't it? That's a good idea. I prefer general knowledge crosswords to the cryptic ones.

"That's my choice, too. I studied French for three years, but never had enough opportunity to use it to get fluent"

When my father was younger, he was fluent in French and gave private tuition - he'd studied it for years I did it at school and then later started going to night school for it but somehow other things got in the way and I never got back to it.

"$10 million is a lot of money to throw away. *g*"

Yes, it is. Perhaps I should reconsider:D

You did it..yay!! I'm so pleased! It's a wonderful read. I can relate to so many of your answers.. but then you knew i would ;)
..especially #1.. I can still remember looking over my shoulder as i typed in his name for the very first time, even though i was completely alone.. i felt i was doing something wrong somehow. He's so young, and i'm so old. But i'm so very glad that i did.

"it's now my haven, the one place I can talk about my devotion to a certain young actor without fear of ridicule,"

That's exactly it.. and i love it!

"..and to have so many lovely friends from all around the world is such a blessing."

There is so much i have to thank Elijah for, not least the friends i've made through him ..it's changed my life.

"if a certain young man was to invite me to one of his pizza evenings .. I'd be more than willing to give it a go!! "

Heheh!! I think we'd all be willing to eat absolutely anything if served by that darling guy!

"You did not just read that - it was a mirage."

My lips are sealed! Though if it were me, i wouldn't want paying.. ;-)

"a kindred spirit - someone who shares completely my feelings about Elijah"

Oh yes indeed.. and it's a utter joy to be your friend. ((hugs))

"My lips are sealed! Though if it were me, i wouldn't want paying.. ;-)"

Ah yes - the 'mirage' has now been edited - it came out all wrong because I was in a bit of a tizz, considering what I was writing about!! Of course, there would be no charge, but sadly I don't think that'll be enough to get him rushing over on the next flight:( *hugs*

I love your answers, thanks for sharing.
#1 is so much like my own experiences ! I'll try typing in 'Elijah Wood' but I don't suppose anything will come up!!! *hihee* I didn't have a PC at home, never seemed to need one before and at work we don't have internet access but the boss has ! But when the cat's away the mice play ! *hehehe* I remember sneaking into his office during lunch hour and googling Elijah's name, Ooooooh, I couldn't believe my eyes ! Sooo many gorgeous pictures, so many links !! Next day I was in desperate need of a PC of my own ;D
the one place I can talk about my devotion to a certain young actor without fear of ridicule
O yes, and everyone here understands your feelings. I can talk to some of my RL time friends about Elijah but they don't really get it, I can see it in their eyes. I don't hide my love for Elijah in RL but I'm not that explicit about it, the thing I fear most is how people regard my husband and our marriage. I'm glad here it isn't regarded as strange to have a happy marriage and to love Elijah at the same time.

"I couldn't believe my eyes ! Sooo many gorgeous pictures, so many links !!"

I know - thousands of links when I was just expecting to draw a blank!! But I'd never heard of him before FOTR - did'nt realise he was so well-known.

"I'm glad here it isn't regarded as strange to have a happy marriage and to love Elijah at the same time"

i'm having such a good time reading all these! so much to learn.

it was rather alarming and surprising to find so many other "older" elijah fans out there. of course, i've liked lij for a long time before LOTR, but with the popularity of the film and the internet combined, there you all were!

i thought i read something weird here. something about 10 million dollars? ah... i guess it was nothing. ;-)

For those who were fans before LOTR, like you, it must have been such a thrill to hear that he'd got the starring role in those movies:)
