It's a long, long time since I did one of these things but quite a lot of my flist have done this one so I thought I'd have a go!!

Elaborate on your profile picture..
I wanted a pic of our gorgeous Lij who is, after all, the reason I'm here (on LJ that is!). With so many beautiful choices it's hard to pick just one but I thought this was a lovely, natural pic and he looks happy:)

Ever have a near-death experience?..
Many years ago I was on the sea in one of those pedaloe things with a friend and a speedboat was heading straight for us. We really thought we were about to die but it swerved at the last moment!

Name an obvious quality you have..
That's a hard one. elijahs_mumble said he's a good listener and I like to think I am too, I do try to be - I believe it's a good quality to have:)

What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now? ..
The Lion Sleeps Tonight :D

Name a celebrity you would marry? ..
I hardly need to answer this, but if I was about a century younger and had never met my husband ... Oh, Lijah, would you take this woman etc, etc ...

Have very few lamps and those we have are mostly not working so don't have a favourite.

A beautiful Frodo wallpaper by annwyn55 which includes the LOTR verse which begins "Still round the corner there may wait a new road or a secret gate".

What was the last movie you watched in theatres? ..
Robin Hood

What was the last book you read? ..
I have two on the go at the moment: "Out of Love" by Victoria Clayton and - don't laugh - "Hamlyns Children's History of Britain". I bought it for my daughter years ago when she was still at school and I always intended to read it myself. It's really interesting!

Ocean or pool? ..

Did you ever have a party that was busted by the cops? ..

Ever met anyone famous? ..
Elijah, several times. Nothing will ever compare to that. But, let me see .. many decades ago I met both the Everly Brothers, the late Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger very briefly, and more recently there were some other LOTR folk - Billy Boyd, Sean Astin, John Noble. Oh, and John Hurt of course who spoke to hubby and me during one of the Oxford Murders scenes!!

Hate spaghetti.

Baseball or Football? ..
Hate them both.

Have you ever ridden in an ambulance? ..
Too many times.

Can you tango? ..

Last gift you received? ..
Flowers for wedding anniversary.

No - how great it must be to have a good voice!

If I could afford it I might be tempted but I don't really think I could go under anaesthetic just for vanity.

What do you wear to bed? ..

Sometimes helped myself to things like printing paper, pens at work. Everyone did it - but two wrongs don't make a right!!

What kind of shoes are you wearing? ..
Not wearing any.

What is your hair color? ..
Dark brown.

Future child's name? ..
Now that would be a miracle! My (grown-up) children are Sarah and Stephen.

City, beach, or country? ..
They all have their own charm but if I had to choose I think it'd be country:)

What is your favourite TV show? ..
I don't really have a favourite current tv show. However, my favourite from the past was 'Upstairs, Downstairs'.

What is your favourite cuisine? ..

What foods do you dislike? ..
Far too many to list!! I'm terribly picky about food!

Yay you've done it too! :)

So you play the piano.. that's great. I love piano music. Is it very difficult to learn?

Morning, when the day stretches ahead and you can anticipate all you're going to get done, rather than night when you have to wonder why you never got those things done!

Hehe very very true.

I learnt to play the piano as a child but stopped having lessons when I was about 13 and didn't play again for years. Then in my 20s I had an urge to go back to it - I've never had the time to practice enough to be really good but it's something I really enjoy doing. I think it's quite easy to learn the basics and to reach a standard where you can play fairly easy tunes - but to become really good you do need to practice. Unless you just happen to be one of these gifted people who can sit down and play anything - without music!!

you don't like spaghetti? you're the first person i know who doesn't like it. hmm... i don't know if i can be friends with someone who doesn't like spaghetti. ;-) however, we do like one guy in particular, so forget the spaghetti. lol!

you play the piano too? awesome! i don't anymore for the same reason you gave. how well did you play? mick jagger? sweet! oh, and your near death experience sent a chill down my spine. i'm glad you're still here with us.

>>you don't like spaghetti?<<

That's right! I think it's the texture - makes me think of worms!! Phew, I'm so glad this isn't going to come between us:D

Can't wait to get back to the piano - but I think it'll have to be an electric one next time, can't afford a real one, even second-hand they're terrifically expensive! I know the tone on even the best electric ones can never be the same but it's not as if I'll be giving any concert recitals or anything!!! I passed quite a few exams when I was a child but I never practised enough to become really good.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner - some of my notifications seem to be late coming recently. Yes, I know I'm very lucky to have met so many well-known people and to have visited NZ - trouble is, I'm greedy - I really want to go back to NZ again! As regards the famous people, well, there's only one I long to see again and he's the one I've met several times already! No prizes for guessing who:)

>>*imagines you teaching Elijah to play the piano*<<

That would be complete bliss!!
