Yesterday was a really good LOTR day:

1) Purchased two tickets for Howard Shore's LOTR concert in May - really looking forward to that.

2) Wandered round W.H. Smith's - they started playing 'Concerning Hobbits' which was lovely - I've never been anywhere thats played anything from LOTR before - and it seemed like an omen as I came upon 2 books which I never expected to find there. I'd intended to order them both from Amazon but hadn't got round to it - the Locations Guide to LOTR and Andy Serkis's book 'Gollum' which contains lots of Elijah pics & references. I haven't read it properly yet, just skimmed through but in places it had me laughing out loud. And I loved what he said about Lij here:

"I had been a huge fan of Elijah's work, particularly in The Ice Storm, and was so excited to be working with him. He has an incredible depth and understanding of life that completely belies his young years, and I was to find out on set that his energy, focus and consummate professionalism really gave power to all around him. He just was Frodo."

3) Saw ROTK for the 3rd time - alone and in an almost deserted cinema. It affected me more than ever this time. I just didn't want it to end. If it had been possible I'd have quite happily sat through it again.

I can't *wait* for a chance to see ROTK alone. I'm sure it's a completely different experience -- without wondering if my friends or family "get it" or are having a good time.

Yes, it was a completely different experience - I felt I was watching it properly for the first time. I was determined to go alone at some stage because I did the same thing with FOTR & TTT and knew how different it would be.

I´m speechless...but I have known it before!
I´m sooooo envy you have seen it 3x and I have to wait more than 6 days. I DO hate Czech Warner Bros-it torment!
Your poor Allie

Glad you enjoyed viewing #3 - hope to go next weekend for mine! It gets more intense and emotional each time - I think I will be a total mess next time. Elijah is SO beautiful ... on my second viewing the cinema was only about a fifth full - it was lovely.

I saw several more books I would love yesterday - too expensive at the moment though :(
