Current Music:I Fall To Pieces ~ Patsy Cline

Subject:ELIJAH IN Q MAGAZINE

My hubby found a small article about Elijah in the latest issue of Q Magazine - I'm not too good at scanning mag articles so I'll just type it out:

"Home Entertainment
Living the Perfect Day the Couch Potato Way

LISTENING
I've just launched a label called Simian Records, so I've been listening to more music than ever. Our first release is an album called New Magnetic Wonder by a great band called The Apples in Stereo. I've been a fan of theirs for years. The older I get, the more voracious my appetite for music gets. A new mainstay is a reissue of a 1972 album by a French duo called The Yamasuki Singers, titled Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki. It's this weird hybrid of funky French music with Japanese vocals. It reminds me a little of The Flaming Lips.

WATCHING
I don't watch a huge amount of TV, but I'm a big fan of [satirical US news show] The Daily Show. There's a big divide now in the US between the Democrats and the Republicans, and [presenter] Jon Stewart pokes fun at both of them. It has better political commentary than most news shows."

READING
The last book I read was The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, which was extraordinary. It's about a man who has a genetic affliction that makes him bounce around in his lifetime and the plot bounces back and forth through time. It's hard to believe that it was her first novel as the construction is so complex. Laying all that out must have been very difficult.

MAKES ME FLEE THE HOUSE
Corporate radio. It hasn't been relevant in regards to introducing new music for some time. I'd like to think that people want more than what they're given."

There is quite a large pic but it's an old one. Can't quite place when/where it was taken without further research, but it's post eyebrow incident:)

Tomorrow I'm responsible for the family's New Year festivities so I won't be online at all. I hope everyone is able to celebrate New Year's Eve in the way they enjoy best and that 2007 will be a wonderful year for all of us:)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I can't believe it. I LOVE this book! I read it last year. Elijah should definitely play the lead if it is ever made into a film. That's my wishful thinking..but he really should!

I love the idea that he loved this book! It's one of my favorite recent reads!

Hi dear friend, many thanks for this interesting article :)

esmegrubb2 quoted it on her Elijah movie site and couldn't remember who it was that sent it as she wasn't sure of the name you used on there. Anyway, I'm very pleased that you posted it!

Thanks for sharing and a very Happy New Year to you too!

Thanks for the article, Pauline. 'The Time Traveler's Wife' does sound intriguing.

I hope the family's New Year's Eve celebrations go well. Will you be in one of yor sherry-induced hazes as you prepare for the festivities? If so, all should run smoothly. (hic!) Cheers!

A very Happy New Year to you, and all your friends here at LJ!

Love, Blossom.

I forgot to refer you I bought the book, what Elijah was speaking about -
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger!
Luckily I found the last copy in bookshop, in addition in Czech, wow, so I am going to start reading during a few days, I let you know how this book impress on me afterwards.
Now I finished very very amazing book by Danish writer Peter Hoeg
Smilla's Sense of Snow, I recommend it to you and all who like ulikely stories. This book got very high&positive and excellent reviews, the author was nominated for Nobel prize of literature ten years ago...
I love reading good books!
A.

Hey! It looks like I will be an extra in OM, too! *squees carefully* Is there anything planned how we LJers can recognise each other and meet up?

Sorry - I suddenly remembered I hadn't replied to your comment!! Glad to hear you will be on OM too - will that be for both days? As I have just posted on my LJ, I've now had confirmation that my husband & I have been accepted for both days - can hardly believe it. They must need some very mature students - I did tell her that we're pretty ancient!!! I haven't heard anything about meeting up - but I know a few are over on Always & Forever. I actually only know of one other LJ person who's going - that's Earths Daughter. Anyway, we should be fairly recognisable - just look for a couple of wrinklies - my husband is tall and grey-haired and that's me in the icon - though I'm now 2 years older and feeling it!! Come and say hello if you get a chance:)

Yes, both days! It's really too good to be true. *begins to worry that something will go wrong*

I will look out for you! Unfortunately I don't have an icon with a pic of me but you'll recognise me by the silly grinning I shall do the entire time. :D I am thinking of taking my black bag that has a little Frodo and Sam button - so if you spot someone with that, it's me. :)
