My hubby found a small article about Elijah in the latest issue of Q Magazine - I'm not too good at scanning mag articles so I'll just type it out:
Living the Perfect Day the Couch Potato Way
I've just launched a label called Simian Records, so I've been listening to more music than ever. Our first release is an album called New Magnetic Wonder by a great band called The Apples in Stereo. I've been a fan of theirs for years. The older I get, the more voracious my appetite for music gets. A new mainstay is a reissue of a 1972 album by a French duo called The Yamasuki Singers, titled Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki. It's this weird hybrid of funky French music with Japanese vocals. It reminds me a little of The Flaming Lips.
I don't watch a huge amount of TV, but I'm a big fan of [satirical US news show] The Daily Show. There's a big divide now in the US between the Democrats and the Republicans, and [presenter] Jon Stewart pokes fun at both of them. It has better political commentary than most news shows."
The last book I read was The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger, which was extraordinary. It's about a man who has a genetic affliction that makes him bounce around in his lifetime and the plot bounces back and forth through time. It's hard to believe that it was her first novel as the construction is so complex. Laying all that out must have been very difficult.
MAKES ME FLEE THE HOUSE
Corporate radio. It hasn't been relevant in regards to introducing new music for some time. I'd like to think that people want more than what they're given."
There is quite a large pic but it's an old one. Can't quite place when/where it was taken without further research, but it's post eyebrow incident:)
Tomorrow I'm responsible for the family's New Year festivities so I won't be online at all. I hope everyone is able to celebrate New Year's Eve in the way they enjoy best and that 2007 will be a wonderful year for all of us:)
