It was brilliant - I loved it!! And I'm so relieved - I'd never seen it before and had heard such bad things so I was quite nervous about it. The whole thing was LOTR-themed - I know that annoys some people but I loved it and it was obvious Elijah did too. I'm sure everyone now knows but just in case nasturtium_leas has posted the whole thing on Elijah Finds. I'll put a cut in here as I don't want to spoil the surprise for anyone

When they showed a very gorgeous young lady with long fair hair selling The One Ring on QVC it was actually quite a few moments before I realised 'she' was Elijah!! No wonder he got so many wolf whistles!!

I loved the bits where they inserted litte clips from LOTR - and Ian McKellan and John Hurt asking him questions.

But whatever happened to Pete Doherty? I was looking forward to that:(

I thought Elijah did a wonderful job - he's a really versatile young man:)

Yay, glad it was fun and not disappointing.

I realised 'she' was Elijah!!

Wheee, Youtube now has most (or all?) of the segments. Here's the one I found the 'saleslady' on:

(Sorry for all the edits! Maybe this is old news already)

LOL! That's the first I've seen of any of this. Wow, they did a great job!

It's scary what a beautiful woman he makes! : D

Thanks for keeping us up to date on this show, Prim. It's just such a hoot to see Elijah having so much fun.

I'm sure you've heard the story about the cast party during the making of LOTR when the guys dressed as women - Lawrence Makaore said Elijah looked so pretty he really fancied him!!

It's totally great, every single bit of it. And I was so excited to find something on Youtube early this morning I didn't even check first to see if anyone else had posted them already. What a terrific community this is, always sharing so generously of whatever is out there.

Yes, he had me fooled about the "saleslady" for a moment, too.

It was awesome -- I stayed up way too late watching it.

Elijah was definitely the best thing on the programme! He was great and didn't mind at all what they said and did, taking everything in his stride and seemingly enjoying the whole experience. Bet you were like me and knew every answer to all the questions about him. Some would say "sad", others that we are true fans ;-D

Like you, my reaction at the end was, "Where was *Pete Doherty*?" Presumably it was edited from the final cut that was screened for some reason. I was really looking forward to that!

Elijah did do a wonderful job. He showed something of what his vast talent enables him to do to people who may still only associate him with LOTR. I could have hugged him!

Oh yes, I knew all the answers!! But I'd definitely call us 'true fans'!!

It's strange about the PD sketch - I wonder if there was some legal reason they couldn't do it.

He did really seem to enjoy the whole thing and did a brilliant job:)

The whole thing was a hoot! I'll be watching it again tonight. It was better than I was expecting anyhow. It seems Alex went along to the shoot with him, according to his blog -- goodness knows exactly what he made of it! ;-D

Yes, it's a shame about the Pete D sketch not making it onto the screen, but I agree with everyone who's said that Lij looks great with longer hair / makeup / dressed as a woman! ;-D And I'm glad that OM got a mention too. Elijah seemed to enjoy it all & remained unfazed by whatever was said.

I think the person called Erin who got the books signed is a member of the fandom here. Hee -- it seems the best place to meet Elijah or to see the best TV shows with him in them (or radio shows) happens here in the UK :-) It's lovely he said in the radio interview that he kind of regards London as "home".

Oh dear, I'm sure a lot of it must have gone straight over his head!!

I thought Elijah looked great in the PD get-up - shame that sketch got pulled:(

I did wonder at the time if Erin is one of us!! And I wonder if the guy who won the prizes is the person who posted on here saying he might be on the show - sorry, can't remember his name at the moment.

We do seem to get a lot more opportunities to see him when he's over here - one of the benefits of living (hehe, I just typed 'loving') in such a small country!! I loved that 'home' remark too:)

As we couldn't see it over here I watched it all on Youtube...
and I adored!

Gorgeous tell sell lady Lij, omg, and Jimmy Saville Lij, and Lij as himself!!

It's so obvious he doesn't give a damn about acting goofy- he's teh most relaxed person when it comes to making a fool of himself...
and that makes me love him so much!
(That, and at least one zillion things, heh.)

One thing though: what happened to the Doherty in prison thingy??

I remember Sean once saying that "Elijah is more comfortable in his own skin than anyone I know" and I think that's very true. It seems he will throw himself into anything with great gusto and just doesn't care if he looks silly or not!!

Shame about the PD sketch - I was looking forward to that:(

I'm so glad I got to see it on You Tube!! He looked like he was having such a good time and did such a great job - and I LOVED that he cracked up the hosts a couple of times!! He doesn't get enough chance to do comedy and he does an amazing job - I'll be watching this again and again!!

(Sorry to jump in here!) The "brass balls" bit, when they were talking about his CD collection, was GREAT! So un-Lij-like, somehow. And DEFINITELY un-Frodo-like, LOL!!

LOL, I think my reaction was just the same as yours! I was relieved it went so well, disappointed at the non-appearance of the PD sketch, & totally fooled for several seconds by the beautiful sales lady! What did you think of his Jimmy Savile? I thought his impression was scarily good, especially for one who presumably has little or no prior knowledge of the creep man.

Oh, for a film that will really let him demonstrate his range!

I thought his Jimmy Savile impression was perfect - though i'm a bit mystified as to why he would have any knowledge of him - perhaps they showed him some video footage. Amazing!!

Oh, for a film that will really let him demonstrate his range!

Oh yes - wouldn't that be great?!

I think the Jimmy Savile bit really showed what a remarkable actor Elijah is. He must have been briefed (and I mean BRIEF) on him just before the taping, probably watched a little tape and voila - a spot on impression. He is one hell of an actor. I loved the 'fragile', girly body language with the home shopping lady and the frilly sleeves (to cover the manly biceps?). And it must have cracked him up completely to have long nails!!
He's come such a long way, confidence-wise, since SNL in 2003. He works that camera and is completely locked into live performance. And I loved the 'great swinging balls' bit; I think it was a peek into the real Elijah - funny, quick, a bit sexhey. What a treat it must be to be a friend of his...
