It is coming !! Suddenly ROTK seems very, very close. It's all starting to happen. Yesterday I got the Visual Companion and also heard that they will be showing the extended FOTR & TTT at a nearby cinema before ROTK. I have also just heard that Sky Movies are covering the Wellington premiere. Soon the soundtrack will be out. I am just steeped in ROTK right now as I'm re-reading the book and it seems to have sharpened all my emotions so that every time I see a pic or read something about poor Frodo & Sam at the end of their journey I just tear up. Reading about poor Lij sobbing in the cinema throughout the final hour of the film did not help matters (I'm sure everyone has read the article so I won't post it again). Even a small, simple paragraph like this from the V.C., referring to F & S in Mordor, can start me off: For these Shire folk, used to the soft greens and blues of a gentle, rainwashed rural landscape, with its rolling pastures and flower-filled meadows, its millponds and woodlands, it must look like the very end of the world.
Am listening to Elijah & Franka on the Radiosonic show they did in Vancouver last year. Elijah has just been talking about how the other hobbits are like family to him and now he is talking about how he is thinking of having another tattoo "over my left breast" to mark the place where Frodo was stabbed. I wonder if he will ever have that done, if he hasn't already - he hasn't mentioned it recently. He also mentions in this inteview about not wanting his own official website because he dislikes that sort of self-promotion. He is so modest & I just adore that about him (but I wish he'd change his mind!). I want to say again just how much I love his voice. It has such gentleness but its gentleness combined with strength. And its as clear as a bell, just a delight to listen to. I like the way he puts emphasis on certain words throughout a sentence - whereas so many people tend to emphasise the first part of a sentence & then trail off. My husband & son are terrible mumblers and I know I used to be guilty of this myself but I'm sure my speech has improved after listening to Lij so much. Honestly!!
